Well this was a delight! Like a less fantastical Divine Rivals with a side of Gilmore Girls style banter and quirk. Somehow this deals with a few heavy subjects and still manages to feel light, almost effervescent, and the contrast doesn’t feel jarring at all. I adored this and imagine I’ll revisit it in the future.

I absolutely adored The Flatshare. It's the first new 5-star book I've read in a long time. I loved Tiffy and her eccentricity and Leon and his quiet, sweet personality. The notes they wrote each other were the best. I laughed and smiled all throughout this book. Their romance was heartwarming and a treat to read. I also enjoyed the heavier themed aspects of The Flatshare, especially what Tiffy dealt with. It felt very real and plausible. I didn't really care for her therapist, though. I liked Mo better.
SpoilerThere's a part of me that wanted Leon to bump into Kay after Richie was let out of prison so he could've said, "I told you so. Bitch. Boo yeah!" But, of course, Leon wouldn't do that. He would just quietly inform her and then leave.

This was a cute little romance in which our characters end up living in the same flat, although at different times of day.  Their paths don't physically cross (until much later in the book), so they leave one another notes in the flat.  The notes were my favorite part!  There are a few heavier aspects to this romance, but they don't overwhelm the story.  We have a wrongful imprisonment and a  medical/illness element to the story.  The romance feels more like a friendship in my memory of the book because it was not overly sexy or anything like that.  This was well done, just not the absolute most enjoyable romance I've ever read due to having a bit of a more serious and less fun tone.

Should really be 3 and a half stars. Very easy reading but also not entirely frivolous as it deals with the important subject of gaslighting.Great choice for summer holiday reading.

Somewhat predictable end-game, but an interesting storyline nonetheless, with enough intrigue to keep me interested. Mainly feel-good.
