I was shocked to learn that Mr Rogers came from such a wealthy background. As I listened all I could think was about how many people would be as creative as he was given the financial stability he was born into. If only we had more equitable income distribution we may have more Fred Rogers in our lives. I'm glad he had the background he did so he could provide the support to young parents that Mr Rogers Neighborhood provided and I'm also glad he was early on the all inclusive bandwagon. I wish we had more Fred Rogers in our lives.
Easily one of my favorite reads this year. As a social worker, parent, and someone who grew up watching Mr Rogers Neighborhood, learning more about Fred Rogers was right up my alley. This book made me tear up on more than one occasion. I listened to the audiobook, which was narrated by LeVar Burton. Between Burton's voice and the book's subject matter, it was one of the most relaxing reads I've ever had. Would definitely recommend this book.
This book immediately tapped into my latent memories of watching Mister Rogers as a child and brought forth all the wonderful feelings toward this magical man. It is a comprehensive look at his life and work and the positive results. I think choosing to acknowledge Fred's detractors but not dwell too long on them in the book helped to keep an engaging narrative flow.
I admire Fred Rogers so much so it wasn’t that HE was the problem. The writing just isn’t catching my attention.
Listened to this one. Fred Rogers was undeniably a great man. His life was not one filled with action but the book kept me interested and taught me a lot along the way.
I listened to this one. LaVar Burton reads it, which was a cozy surprise. I need a break from everything angry in the world. So ... If anyone saw a random girl weeping on the CTA..... that was me. I'm ok. Just, remembering
This book made me weep many times. I have always had great admiration and respect for Fred Rogers, but this biography is filled with stories that made me love him even more. I listened to the audiobook read by Levar Burton, another person I respect and admire. It was a winning combination. Fred Rogers' story makes me want to be a better person. This is a beautiful tribute to a great man.

Good work about a great man. The writing was sometimes redundant, as though each chapter was written without an overarching narrative in mind. Definitely worth the read.
Did not even finish, the writing just did nothing for me. Covers a lot of unnecessary information in a tedious manner.
