Love it!! Very needed right now. Can a person be a special interest?
I love that this book went into the other people who “loved him into being”, especially his wife. He was surrounded by so much love in his life. That being said, I don’t think he’s an outlier. It makes sense that he turned out like that when he grew up with immense generational wealth and grown ups who loved him unconditionally. He was encouraged to be creative and never had to weigh the financial risk of career choices. Of course there are still challenges, but he had the support people to help navigate those situations in a healthy way. I love his message and principles and he was so different from the norm of the time. But I think many more people would be like him with the same unconditional love and support.
Love Mr. Rogers and some of the details of his life but overall this book was long, boring, and repetitive.
When a Mr. Rogers biography audiobook is narrated by LeVar Burton, it equals pure nostalgia. I loved hearing about Fred Rogers childhood and choices through adolescence. I cried while listening to some fan interaction stories. There were a couple “uncharacteristic” stories that I wish there was more information to digest.
In the end, I feel inspired by Fred Rogers dedication to making the most of each moment and valuing others emotions and differences above whatever else might be on someone’s agenda.

Fascinating book about the life and work of Fred Rogers. Thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the man who began the movement of child education through media.
I enjoyed reading about Fred Rogers- writing and editing did leave much to be desired. There were times I felt like I was proofreading a high school paper. Lots of repetition and basic writing structure
