Thank gd for this book. It’d been a long time since a book was a full 5 stars from me. This book reminded me what good YA feels like: sharp yet entertaining prose, the humor there, the arc strong, the metaphors intricate and visual. It’s got found family, too. This’ll probably actually be the new go-to when I recommend my friends a YA read. Just painful (but not only!) and perfect.

Omg this is one of my favourite books. I relate to Cameron so much it hurts.

A beautiful, messy book about loss, secrets, and what it means to be young and gay and figuring yourself out. Cameron is so easy to love. It’s both an absolutely thrill and very painful to watch her move through Cameron’s adolescence. It’s even more wonderful to see her forge relationships and move from a place of shame to pride. Danworth wrote the kind of novel you never want to end.
