The inspiration behind reading this story is my love the the TV series Beauty and The Beast (which is also the inspiration for the author). Over all the writing is great. The author describes the scene with amazing text, along with telling a story of darkness, mystery, and some what romance. But this tale written in diary form is not for the light hearted as your read on about Meg's life while being capture and the things happening to her.

The story does show a brief connection between the two characters, which I like but at the same time I am torn over the fact the main character is suffer from stockholm syndrome. As for the brief connections (showing there could be something great between the two), but they are over taken mostly by the rape/sex scenes in the book.

So thank God there is a sequel coming. Although to be fair the cliff-hanger is not as bad as you would think it's more to do with the fact that you just want more. this story content is very dark but despite the fact the author claims it is not a romance novel, there are definitely themes of it through out and you do find yourself just hoping that everything turns out well for Meg and Jay. It me its always been about the relationship between the two main characters and the chemistry between these two is absolutely sizzling. the author has managed to convey through Megs voice and her experiences and views alone a strong and what will hopefully be a binding bond between the two main characters, all in all a good read and one I would recommend to anyone who doesn't mind a bit of dark romance.
