The initial plot was simple: high school grudge, revenge and insecurities, and it completely spirals out of that involving themes such as politics and sexual abuse. The pacing was a little slow, although it didn't feel like it drags on for too long. The characters are complex: the psychological warfare between the two main characters being likened to a game of chess is nothing short of brilliance; and the art style being devoid of color, except for some details such as Euihyun's blonde hair, primarily showcasing black and white as a pallette to mimic the visuals of a chessboard: pure genius. Truly a masterclass of Korean BL manhwas.
