Truly enthralling concept and execution. I feel like it's a really good exploration of what it means to be kind to yourself in all iterations, past, present, and future. Knocking off a quarter star because the author does the thing where she only describes a character's race if they are nonwhite, which is annoying.

I wasn't sure if I would get along with this novel, but I loved it. The concept of living life out of order was so intriguing to me, and Montimore did fantastic job of keeping me interested throughout the entire novel. I didn't expect
Oona to be Kenzie's mum
, but in the end, it was a nice plot twist. I can't wait to read it again.

I loved following along with Oona and trying to piece together the aspects of her life. It made me think hard about the logistics but also the inevitability of fate. While there were times that Oona tried to change things and it was a little frustrating when she didn’t heed her own advice, I liked how it was portrayed that this is how her life plays out because this is Oona and these are the decisions she would and does make. This was we were able to focus on just how her life played out and the wisdom she had at times from her future self and focusing on living life to its fullest in the now rather than spending all her energy on making the “right” decision to try to change something. Overall it was very thought provoking and I couldn’t wait to see what happened and what year she went to next.

While the book is thoroughly enjoyable, with good character development, twists and turns, and settings that are easy to visualise, there are issues. Some may find the actions and thoughts of the main character, Oona, quite frustrating. Also, some of the pacing is a bit off, too long focussed on one topic and not enough time focussed on another, for example.
