A good story!
I enjoyed Maeves story and her journey to figure out who she was. It was full of action and adventure.

All the Queen’s Men was a steamy, thrilling, paranormal reverse harem romance. It was so good from start to finish. I haven’t listened to a paranormal reverse harem in a long while and this one was wonderful. It had lots of sexy, steamy scenes, plus an action packed mystical prophecy that needed to be fulfilled. I enjoyed every minute of it! K. Loraine beautifully created this intriguing magical world bringing faes, vampires, and sea creatures together. It was easy to follow and not get lost with all the historical background of the Shadow Court and prophecy.
The all-star multicast narration was phenomenal! It made this story entertaining to listen and definitely brought it to life. Shane, Jason, Teddy and Jacob were perfectly cast as Mauve’s men. Shane, as Jensen, the brooding protector. Jason, as Finn, the loyal protective best friend. Teddy, as Christian, the sexy dark vampire prince. And Jacob, as Rhys, the cocky devious sea prince. They each brought something unique to their characters and made the chemistry between them and Mauve epically intense. Stella Hunter as Mauve was incredible! She brought on the sass and quite confidence that made Mauve a lovable character. Wesleigh and Kylie added their own magical twist to their portrayal of the White Lady and Mauve’s Aunts, Saskia & Imogen.
This PNR story ticked all the boxes and made it a unforgettable, entertaining story. All the narrators are incredible storytellers and brought this mystical Fae super reverse harem to life. This audiobook is divided into two parts and includes a bonus novella.

I love RH books, I do. And the thing I love most about them is the depth of the main character's relationship with each of her men. That was nonexistent here. Everything is just so fast paced for no reason at all. The book is almost 600 pages long, there was definitely space to flesh out the relationships.
This is one of those insta love cases, where she sees a guy, immediately falls for him and he for her, and rinse and repeat 4 times. To be fair, there was double insta love at the start, where she meets Finn and Jensen, and the other two guys were individual, but still.
There was barely any plot, which I don't mind when I like the characters, but I didn't end up liking anyone here. It's weak at best, it's there just to fill up some time between romantic scenes.
And then there's Maeve's training, or lack thereof. There's one distinct scene I remember, it was over too quickly, and the point in the book it first appears is a bit strange. You'd think she'd want to train the very second she sees she has powers, especially since she seems so concerned about hurting her mates, but no.
I don't think this author is for me, since this is now the third book that I either don't like or don't have strong feelings for. But I am going to read The Mate Games anyway, it should be more to my taste since it's a collab with another author I love.
Finally, the short story at the end deserves a mention. It was so much better than the main book and I think getting through 500+ pages just to get to it was worth it. I wasn't even going to read it, but I'm glad I did. If there was a story with those two characters, like their own spinoff, then I think I'd give K. Loraine another chance.
4 stars for the short story, 2 stars for the main story, so I'll be nice and give it 3.

Copypasta & continuation (I read this duology as the remastered audiobook and didn’t want to spoiler book 2 things in book 1’s review)
Wow, the narration for this knocked my socks off! The cast was star studded so I really didn’t expect anything less but there’s something so satisfying about the seamless transitions and the ability to know exactly who is speaking and when. It’s something I’ve struggled with especially first getting into listening to audiobooks. There was no doubt with this and it was easy to get lost in the story.
That is also the reason it’s not 5 stars though; it’s too easy to get lost — and it had nothing to do with the narration, which was immersive and brilliant. We get thrown into this fantastical world and I know that a lot of the lack of information is due to Maeve not knowing anything at all about Faerie… but we have multiple POVs and there was SO much potential there where we could’ve learned more about the world from them, with or without Maeve learning about it too. I felt so lost at times with what was going on, and again maybe this was by choice but I felt just as frustrated if not more so than Maeve at times when she was expected to know things she had no way of knowing. I loved the world so much I really wish there had been more of it.
The romance was flawless though, and pulls you through the full gambit of emotions; K Loraine really knows how to pluck your heart strings and set fire to your soul. The spicy scenes where hot and fantastical, the magic aspects being unique and interesting. And even when some of the men being introduced start cold, you can’t help but like them alongside Maeve.
Book 2 additions:
I really didn’t think I would end up liking Reese after what happened but he really grew on me. And I don’t know if it was his character or his narrator but he ended up being my favorite — his sassy confidence and his sweet, soft side were at odds but it just worked so well. And the fact that him and Christian end up in a relationship as well was the cherry on top of that hot cake. Finn & Jensen were wonderful in their own ways too, I genuinely liked them all and I felt like their dynamic as a unit was perfection. They had different enough personalities and quirks that it didn’t feel like a copy paste of four hot men to fall over themselves for the Queen. And Maeve herself was a unique and likeable character. I love that she was strong, but also felt her feelings, including doubts, and was very human (despite being fae ha ha) and relatable.
I also love the level of devotion and the willingness to set their differences aside to make sure their Queen was happy, loved, and safe. They trusted her implicitly and that translated into trusting each other and it just felt like a much more realistic take on the whole reverse harem thing.
The ending really surprised me, but in a good way. Maeve was a damn good queen and person to let the changeling human go back home, with Maeve’s memories and no repercussions for what she did. I don’t think I could’ve done the same, knowing how many people she killed, lives she ruined, and people she hurt. But it was a testament to her being a compassionate leader.

"All the Queen’s Men" by K. Loraine is the second book in the "Their Shadow Queen" series. The story follows Maeve, a human living her normal life until her 21st birthday. Finn and Jenson are sent to protect her and they feel a strong connection to one another. The three of them are transported to the Shadow Court where Maeve learns that she is the Shadow Court's long-lost and powerful queen. While she takes her rightful place in the court, she must learn to control her powers and marry a prince even though she is in love with Finn and Jenson.
The world-building was easy to follow which I appreciated because fantasy books are often complex and heavily descriptive, but Loraine did a great job creating unique characters, relationships, and plots. I loved Maeve's strong and bold identity. I also loved how well the men and her personalities complimented one another. There was a great balance between spice and plot in this book and I thoroughly enjoyed the read!

This is my first reverse harem, and I’m surprised by how much I enjoyed it. All the men in the book seemed to fit the needs of Maeve. Also added to the spice was the fact that it included fae and vampires. I also enjoyed the “trials” Maeve had to go through.

All the Queens Men is a paranormal reverse harem. I liked that this wasn’t the typical fated mate paranormal RH, though some tropes are often used.
I liked all of the characters but, I have to say that some of the guys got on my nerves. I just wanted to tell them to get their heads out of their asses a few times during the book. I also feel like there were a couple of unnecessary complications to the story.
That being said, I enjoyed Maeve’s story. I didn’t expect her to be as fierce as she was, and I appreciated that she did doubt herself, but she also pushed through that doubt to become the woman she needed to be. This easily could have been more than one book, but I appreciate that the author kept it short. The story ended satisfyingly, and I appreciate the addition of this book's m/m aspect, something I wish there was more of in RH. I will certainly read more paranormal books by this author!

So I’m a proud member of the #whychoose club but boy combining RH and pnr was something I was just not prepared for. It was like an extra scoop of ice cream with your cake. All the Queen’s Men had me not only wishing for a RH of my own but hoping for one that was otherworldly pretty please!
I eagerly and greedily devoured this book! I mean from the first chapter, All the Queen’s Men had some serious suspense that kept me hooked on every word! Jensen, Finn, Rhys and Christian made for a delectable harem and I loved the adoration they had for their queen. K. Loraine knocked this bad boy out the park and I can’t wait to see what’s next!

I don’t read PNR as much as I used to but this book reminded me exactly why the fae and paranormal are so much fun and exciting to read. This world was opened up in such an awesome way and the book flowed so seamlessly. I truly enjoyed Maeve, Jensen, Finn, Rhys and Christian. Their journey to the crown was filled with so many trials and adventures and I truly enjoyed every bit of it. The epilogue was my absolute favorite and I wish there was more that included Finn more!!
