GRIP TRILOGY by Kennedy Ryan
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️++
Kennedy Ryan is a poet and a word smith. I’m always so emotional reading her books and this is possibly the best Trilogy I’ve ever read. I laughed at the banter between Grip and Bristol and I teared up at the emotions that stir between a smile and a sob while reading it.

“I have no pride when it comes to you, to this. I’ll chase you anywhere.”

The way they love each other is inspiring and empowering and as always I love how she brings emotions so easily into words that you feel everything written. Ugh

This is honestly my favorite series by this author. It kinda stuck with being that ive been in the main female characters shoes. She brings to light the side you don't always see in a interracial relationship. And i loved it cause i actually understood a book characters journey more than anything in these books. I loved these two so much. So many emotions but so worth everything.

If it’s one thing Mrs. Ryan knows how to do that’s write beautiful black romances. She is the type of author who will rip your heart out of your chest, throw it on the ground and stomp it out just to pick it back up and mend it back together lol. That’s exactly what happened with Grip and Bristol. Their love was undying and no matter how hard Bris tried to fight her way from Grip the love they had for one another always overpowered it.

This story is about an interracial couple who are constantly fighting against the world and odds set against them due to racism and the social injustices in society. They come from two completely different worlds but their love is all the same. Grip and Bristol faces many challenges from his family making it known that they don’t want him being with a white woman to the world trashing her as well as him because he’s a successful black rapper who advocates for social justice within the black community. They fell in love before the game and didn’t let anything or anyone stop them. Although Bristol didn’t understand or know what it’s like to be black in white America she educated herself, she stood up for what was right and most importantly fought for Grip. She faced the harsh comments thrown at her from the media to his family and continued to show everyone that no matter what they say or how they felt nothing could take the love she had for Grip away from her. And likewise with Grip.

This trilogy including the two short stories was everything. It‘ll be living rentfree in my heart and soul forever!
I just want what they have!
It was finding and loosing love, be patient, denying love until you don‘t, found family, healing together, getting through good and horrible times together, getting a even stronger relationship, growing together, getting a more dimensional relationship.
Learning from each other, getting over the racial dimension. I loved it how they fought for their relationship, fought against white and black differences.
This story showed: Love is colorblind. And i fucking loved it.
I even can get over bristal‘s (8 long years) stubbornness and grip‘s dealing with women like his briefs in this time… i hated this part, but when it FINALLY happened it felt so fucking right!
(And you even got a glimpse of the third hoops-protagonist.)

And i‘m happy i got myself the trilogy with the two short stories. I needed these extensions.
