Takamiya Naho got a mysterious letter from her future self with a request to keep a close watch to the new transfer student who soon will be included in her close-knitted group of five. In the letter, her future self writing a detailed events day to day, and then stating that in ten years later, the transfer student, Naruse Kakeru, won't be with them again. He'll die in a traffic accident in winter the following year because he throws himself in front of a speeding truck in an apparent suicide attempt. Naho's future self said that letting Kakeru died is one of her greatest regret, so she asked her past self to not following her path and try to safe Kakeru from his cruel fate.
We often get this "change the past, prevent someone from his death" stories, but I think I haven't read one with the suicide theme until I read this manga. The exploration is so nice, more focusing on how hard it is to handle a person with suicide tendency, how your words could be interpreted as something hurtful and how it's like trying to walk on an eggshell around him. I love how supportive the gank are--and Suwa! You're the real MVP, man! The story is still a bit too good to be true sometimes, but I understand that the more important thing is the message of the story is delivered successfully. I wish there will be more close up on Higaki(?), though, cause at some point he seems troubled but it's not well-explained and just left it hanging at that.
Beautiful, bittersweet story. May you have a blessed life from now on, Kakeru!

This was a great start to the series! Looking forward to reading the next book!!
This is my first time reading a Manga and I was throughly hooked. I think the story has a very powerful message, yet is still enjoyable and cute at times. I am so excited to continue on with the series and can’t wait to see where things Pan out for the characters

On the first day of 11th grade, Naho receives a letter from her future self. She dismisses it as a prank until the events within begin to unfold before her very eyes. Future Naho speaks of her regrets, especially what happened to the new transfer student Kakeru. She pleads to her younger self to not make the same mistakes that she did and to take care of Kakeru because he isn't with them in the future.
Just from the first volume this manga will tug at your heart. I'm tearing up thinking about it and I can't believe it took me this long to pick it up. I'm certainly going to be continuing on and probably will pick up the two omnibus volumes.
Naho is a great manga heroine because she's smart, compassionate and kind of shy. The manga mainly takes place in the past, but tiny scenes of the future are taking place at the same time. It's not that distracting and really helps the narrative because you're seeing how the friend group is taking Kakeru's absence in the future. These scenes seriously broke my heart.
I was immediately connected to all of the characters, there are a few female characters that are kind of off in the background but everyone has a unique design and personality that you'll catch on quick. I can't wait to read more!
