I always assumed The Lightning Thief was my favourite book in the series, but there's a reason sooo much of Battle of the Labyrinth is still so vivid in my head. The tone of the series had already shifted in the previous book with our first significant demigod death, but the training wheels are well and truly gone for book 4. The fast pace lent itself to comedy in the previous books but in this book it just feels tense and claustrophobic.
Despite this, the book has some of the best jokes in the series. Shout-out to Chapter 9: I Scoop Poop for being my favourite thing to read so far in my reread.
Moderate: Death and Suicide
Minor: Fatphobia
