These character's really meld well together and it was an enjoyable little read. I struggle with redundant concepts (how many times do we need to know she normally only dates 6 months) and this book had several of those back and forth moments. I did love their cozy vibes and quickish fall and it has a good surprise ending.

Macy is firey and I'm not just talking about her hair! I loved the back and forth between her and Paxton. (Most) His family were so welcoming towards her and I absolutely adored his mom! She deserves a loving family after all she went through.

“Push me away. I can handle the sarcasm. I can handle the insults. Because I know they’re a defense mechanism that you hide behind. But what I can’t handle is you making me feel the way you do and then just shutting the door in my face like none of it matters to you.”

Worth the hurt was worth the hurt! Whew talk about the emotional rollercoaster this book took me on. The mental health rep in this book was simply top tier. The quiet love Paxton has for Macy is absolutely heart warming. The relationship between them was absolutely incredible. Paxton and Macy both deem themselves broken but the truth is they were two halves to a whole. This book covers very, very heavy topics so definitely check the trigger warnings. This book broke me and put me back together multiple times. I cannot believe this is a debut novel! Ashley absolutely knocked it out of the park! I am so excited for more from her!!

Knowing this author from bookstagram, I was so excited to get my hands on this read and it did not disappoint!! I loved it so much.
I think it’s really reflective how complicated a relationship can be when there are trust issues going in. Abandonment issues and anything else really weigh on a person and really affect how they move forward in life. Macy and Paxton were a case of insta love, but they had a lot of issues to work out. First and foremost, Macy’s refusal to last longer than 6 months in a relationship. That way, there’s no risk of her getting too attached. Problem is Paxton is very lovable and just about perfect for her. Paxton has some secrets of his own though, specifically a former fiancée who is trouble. But but with all the obstacles, at the end of the day these two want to make it work, and I really enjoyed reading how they got there.

I had the pleasure of taking part in a read-along with #bookbuddynook for this book, which was generously provided by the author. The novel "Worth the Hurt" portrays the story of Paxton and Macy, who both practice law in the same law firm, but have had troubled pasts.
I loved the depth that the author has given to these characters. The story takes you on an emotional journey as you learn about their struggles and secrets. The book is beautifully written and has a perfect balance between the character's personal lives and their professional careers.
If you're someone who loves stories that will tug at your heartstrings, this is the one for you. The book has some spicy elements, which add an extra layer of intrigue to the plot. The author has done an excellent job of developing both Paxton and Macy's characters, and the dual point of view adds an extra layer of depth to the story.
The tension and action between these two characters are spot on, which makes it hard not to root for them both. The secrets revealed in the book are heart-wrenching and made me emotional.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a realistic love story with characters that you will grow to care about. The author has done an amazing job of balancing the emotional aspects with the romance and professional lives of the characters. It's a great read that you won't want to put down.

Macy and Paxton have the love story uou want to have.
Or perhaps you want a perfect golden retriever book boyfriend like Paxton (I do).

Friends to lovers
He falls first and hard
Each have heavy pasts
No third act breakup.
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5/5

My only regret is that the end is really wrap up. And they have so much to unravel. I would have preferred that the author takes her time to show us how when you love someone, you can deal with the struggles of your partner.

Otherwise it is a really good fluffy love romance!
