This was such a fun and lighthearted read! Deliciously spicy, wholeheartedly romantic and all sorts of cute! Almost like a second chance/one that got away, and a perfect portrayal of opposites attract. As the maid of honor, extroverted Essie is planning the perfect wedding events for her best friend, elusive Nate, the best man( and also the best kiss she’s ever experienced but then was ghosted by him) has to be involved as well. A delightful competition of all events ensure, but so does a budding friendship and romance between the two. He was the dark cloud and she was the rainbow and together they fit. I pretty much smiled through this entire story!
Thanks to the author for the eARC

This story follows Essie who was ghosted by Nate after sharing a kiss and now they must plan their friend’s wedding. This is part of the Toronto Tornado series but is also considered a standalone since the MCs are not hockey players. However, it’s best to read the previous books to understand this one. I really enjoyed this book, which was fun and cute. It’s perfect for the summer with all the resorts the characters went to. The writing was great, and I enjoyed the story however, I wish the story of Nate’s mom was more spread out instead of dropped at the end of the book. This book is told from both Essie and Nate’s pov.

Essie is a makeup artist and Rix’s best friend. I remember her from book 1 and was glad to read her story. I loved how confident and smart she is. I do wish we got to see more development of the mentions of how she wouldn’t be confident at times. Then we have Nate who is an engineer and Tristan’s brother. He had more background to his character that we knew about and I enjoyed seeing his development. There are many side characters in this book where we remeat the old couples and get to see Connor who I am excited to see in the next book. The romance is second chance and grumpy x sunshine which was well done. I loved the chemistry between the couple especially with how much they care for each other.

The ending was well done, and overall, I enjoyed the story. The ending opens up to who the next book will be about. I was happy that we got Tristan and Rix’s wedding and hopefully we get to see more. I enjoyed this book and I recommend checking out this series especially if you love hockey romances.

I’m a big fan of this world and the characters in it. I love them all, and it’s the perfect example of found family, with the split off Badass Girl Gang. I need my own girl gang so bad.

Essie is all sunshine and rainbows and wants to find “the one”. Nate is the Mr Grumpy, love isn’t real type. One kiss 6 years ago, one great kiss, has meant these two haven’t stopped thinking about each other. Thrown together as best man/maid of honour hormones and feelings bubble up. Nate’s an engineer and nothing gets Essie hotter than Nate speaking all science-y to her. It’s actually cute, but don’t worry there’s still some filthy talk going on.

For fans of this world, we get to see everyone from the Toronto Terror series and the Chilton U students. This was like a fun visit with friends who decided to dish some drama at the end. Dred and Connor and a marriage of convenience. But why the need to get married??

Putting out to the universe that I need Sam and Isaac’s stories.

Thank you to Helena Hunting for the arc and this is my honest review.

i’ve been jonesing for essie and nate’s book for a long time and it was everything and more than what i could’ve wanted! hooked. obsessed. couldn’t get enough. i was consumed with everything essie and nate, i loved them!

i was smitten and giddy and with a constant smile on my face reading this. i absolutely adored essie and nate. the banter between them was sensational and their chemistry was exceptional. essie’s sunshine demeanor paired so well with nate’s grumpiness. they made quite the match and complimented each other so well. they were so good together and exactly what the other needed. i couldn’t get enough of them.

i could be yours gave me all the grumpy/sunshine vibes i love. i absolutely loved essie and nate to pieces. i also couldn’t get enough of the friend groups, i just love all these characters so much. i’m so excited for what’s to come, i can’t wait.

I COULD BE YOURS by Helena Hunting
Toronto Terrors Series
Nate and Essie's Story
Tropes: Second Chance, Grumpy Prince Charming/Fairy Tale Princess,
This was such a feel good romance with Helena Hunting's characteristic sense of humour. I really enjoyed all the characters in this story. Nate with his serious (afraid of love) personality and how Essie's presence just made him happier. Essie and her sassy self loving fairy tales and keeping her life organized. One kiss years ago then ghosted by Nate, Essie wasn't thrilled to be stuck planning her best friends wedding with best man Nate (the boy who broke her heart). Nate doesn't believe in love but her sure is sending some sexy vibes her way. I really loved this couple. They were fun yet they were also very emotional. All the feels and I honestly couldn't get enough of them.

Essie and Nate are stuck together, planning his brother and her best friend's wedding. It shouldn't be an issue being in such close proximity, but he ghosted her years ago after a kiss and was supposed to call. Did he? No, of course not. And now he hates her apparently. His grumpiness is legendary, and she's not about to put up with it. Or at least, that's what she tells herself...until the real Nate starts peeking through and she can't help herself from falling for that side of him.

The banter is snarky and witty and fun. The couple is grumpy/sunshine adorableness. And they are individually such great characters separately who complete each other when they fall in love. Their journey had its highs and lows, and their backstories were a bit heartbreaking, especially Nate's, but by the end, I was smiling so hard as they finally opened up and got on the same page at the same time. I love this couple and their story - their delicious chemistry, their enemies vibe that didn't really disguise their real feelings, and how their emotional bond only strengthened with each page.

If you love a second-chance, grumpy/sunshine romance with forced proximity and off-the-charts banter—I Could Be Yours delivers. Essie is a reformed fairytale addict trying her best to keep it together as maid of honor. Nate is the broody best man who ghosted her six years ago… and now they’re stuck planning a wedding together.

There’s dirty talk, piercings (hers 👀), dance lessons, and one seriously fun wedding week. We also get cameos from the Toronto Terrors universe—Rix and Tristan’s wedding sets the stage—and it’s a treat to see those familiar faces without them stealing the spotlight. All the cucumber references were a hoot! Nate and Essie’s quirks click perfectly, the banter kept me laughing, and when Nate finally lets his guard down the feelings hit hard.

The duet narration for the audiobook was exactly what I hoped for. Teddy Hamilton as Nate? Well, he always delivers and this was no exception. He brought all the broody tension, the vulnerability, and just the right edge of heat. And Savannah Peachwood was Essie. Her soft, slightly breathy tone matched Essie’s romantic, big-hearted vibe so well, and you could really feel her emotional highs and lows. Together, they brought the chemistry to life in such a natural way—I didn’t want to hit pause.

This is the kind of romance that’s fun, emotional, and full of tension in all the right ways. And that epilogue twist? I’m already counting down to see what’s next.
