If you're a fan of The Toronto Terrors Series this one will not disappoint you. I Could Be Yours is a stand alone but it does circle around the Toronto Terror universe. We get to see characters from that world merge into this story.  But you can read this one on its own and still get an amazing read. Nate and Essie might be my new favorite couple. I just absolutely adored this one.

Nate and Essie have an unforgettable kiss back in high school. Nate leaves for college and never looks Essie’s way again.

Now they find themselves back in each other's orbit by being in Rix and Tristen’s Wedding. Nate is Tristen’s best man and Essie is Rix’s maid of honor. They start out strong with an undeniable attraction to each other. They are complete opposites in every way possible Essie is literal rainbows and sunshines where Nate is a black cloud.

What starts as a week-long fling turns into a week of rediscovering passed feelings. Learning to get over past trauma and learning to cope and move past that trauma by taking a leap of faith by putting your heart out there again.

Narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood. Teddy Hamilton always brings it when narrating he did an exceptional job at bringing Nate's broody jilted personality. Savannah Peachwood is a new narrator to me. I thought she was the perfect Essie. She truly captured Essie’s soft and sweet voice that really made me feel like she embodied Essie to a T. I thoroughly enjoyed them both in this audiobook.

Absolutely loved!

Nathan and Essie's story was everything I hoped it'd be. A grumpy/sunshine, second chance romance where they start out as antagonists but have to spend the summer in close proximity doing wedding stuff (when he doesn't even believe in love and she's practically an OTT Disney princess fan with a bedroom populated with pink heart pillows) and everyone is hockey adjacent? Yes, please!

If you've read Nate's older brother's book ( If You Hate Me ) you'll be somewhat familiar with the Essie/Nate antagonism going in, and you'll love watching all the behind-the-scenes wedding details for Tristan and Rix's big day. All of the other Terror couples we've seen in the other series books are here too, and the MCs from Chase Lovett Wants Meas well--technically, you could read it as a standalone, but you'd miss out on a lot of inside jokes and information. Do yourself a favor and read them all ;)

I listened to the audio version, which was top notch. I'm really loving the dual POV audiobooks that are read duet style--such a fun touch!

This one was sweet, with some depth and angst, as well as spice and swoon. The characters are likeable and I definitely felt the tension and draw between them. I was fortunate to receive both an ALC and ARC, so I became fully immersed in the world of Nate and Essie.

Teddy Hamilton is one of my favorite male voice actors, so I was excited to find that he was narrating. He has a quirky and distinctive tone that I enjoy, and he made Nate irresistible. Savannah Peachwood always does a wonderful job with her voices, and this was no exception. She made Essie's uptight and organized tendencies seem almost cute and definitely relatable.

I loved seeing glimpses of characters from Helena's previous stories, and how the world all ties together. I am definitely reading whatever comes next!

Thank you to the author for having me on your team and for my gifted copies. I am voluntarily sharing my honest review.

I am a huge fan of Helena Hunting. No exception with her latest novel either. Love getting the stories for all the different characters we meet in others. Essie and Nate are perfect and there are so many great moments.

I really enjoyed this one! I liked that even before he realized what an idiot he was for assuming things about her (I quite enjoyed when he realized the errors of his way and it just made him like her even more) he was already not wanting her to downplay her accomplishments and such. Their "I hate that I like this" vibe at the beginning was great, but I was surprised that their history that was alluded to before was as little as it was and caused that much irritation between them. The spice was spicing as usual, the humor was there as usual, and the fun group of extended friends and family were entertaining as usual (I am so excited for the next two books in this series with all the hints, confirmations, and reveals we got this time). The stuff with him mom was heartbreaking, and I'm curious to see how it'll affect the youngest brother when we eventually get his book in the university series, since it's clearly messed up the older two and now they're keeping something from him.

Helena Hunting does it again. While not her funniest book, I really loved this one. Nate and Essie were very sweet together and I've been rooting for them for a while (across other books they appear in). I definitely thought it was funny how she wanted him to "talk sciencey" to her. And I'm glad that he owned up to his part in their past.

A laugh out loud, own your heart kind of good time. Hunting sets the senses ablaze with humor and energy that dares to bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart. Nate and Essie walk a fine line between lighthearted and tempestuous. I Could Be Yours pushes all the right buttons.
