Destination wedding with all the spice & banter
Nate Stiles is hands down the serious Stiles brother. He lives a structured life & thrives on organization. He a man scorned & doesn’t believe that love truly exists. Soul mates…something to scoff at. HEA…literally a fairy tale. But what happens when he has to help plan his brother’s wedding with the woman he ghosted six years ago.
Essie Lovelock is a romantic to the core. She loves love & is a princess just looking for her very own HEA. But up until now, she’s been quite unlucky in that department. When she falls, she falls hard. She just didn’t see herself falling again for the man who snubbed her six years ago.
I absolutely adored the banter between Nate & Essie. As enemies, it was constant. Deep down, they both resent the fact that they are insanely attracted to each other. But as they find themselves continually thrown together as best man & maid of honor, enemies turn to friends with benefits. But can friends with benefits ever truly survive when the pair are so perfectly made for each other?
The cameos by the Toronto Terror cast always keep things fun & interesting. They are the essence of a found family. And there’s always more amazing stories to be told with these players that I can’t wait for.

This was my first book by Helena Hunting, and I picked it up as part of a buddy read challenge. I read and listened to it at the same time, and honestly, the audiobook was fantastic. Savannah Peachwood and Teddy Hamilton nailed the narration. You could really feel the chemistry between Essie and Nate through their voices—it made the story hit even harder.

The tension and chemistry between Essie and Nate were exactly what I hoped for. There’s this slow burn, full of banter and awkward moments, that slowly builds into something intense. They’ve both been hurt in the past, and it shows. That one moment where Nate finally opens up, and Essie says she doesn’t believe him—ugh, that one hurt. You could feel how afraid they both were to let go of the past.

I loved the second chance angle in this romance. Nate and Essie had history—one kiss, and then six years of silence. Now they’re thrown together as best man and maid of honour at a wedding, and all those old feelings start coming back. They both try to stay professional, but it doesn’t take long before the sparks start flying again.

Essie is pure sunshine—warm, hopeful, and always trying to see the best in people. Nate, on the other hand, is broody, guarded, and completely closed off. They’re total opposites, but somehow that just works. Their dynamic is funny and sexy, especially when they start competing—whether it’s planning the wedding or, later on, behind closed doors.

This book has a bit of everything: grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, second chances, and just the right amount of spice. It’s emotional without being too heavy, and full of witty dialogue.

I loved Nate’s broody grumpiness so much! I loved seeing him peel back the layers to Essie’s personality and how encouraging he is of her work. And I loved that Essie is obsessed with his brain 🤣 the whole bad*** babe brigade is phenomenal and seeing the whole Toronto terror crew show up for Tristan and Rix’s wedding was so fun! I loved Nate and Essie’s love story — Nate had a lot of growing to do but he wanted to do it to be the best he could be for Essie which is beautiful to see play out on the pages. Another winner for me!
