I love the idea of surrounding yourself with things that you really love in your home and everything having a place. Great idea, but at this point really hard to maintain this level of organization with kids.
Very practical, excluding the Japanese mysticism. I’m already seeing great results just by applying a few principles! Possessions shouldn’t cause you stress; they should spark joy!

I love Marie Kondo!!
*If you are confident that something brings you joy, keep it, regardless of what anyone else might say. Even if it isn't perfect, no matter how mundane it might be, when you use it with care and respect, you transform it into something priceless.*
*I'm convinced that things that have been loved and cherished acquire elegance and character.*
*...What really brings joy to our lives is savoring daily life, instead of taking it for granted.*
*...I realized that when I start judging others, it's usually because something in my own life needs to be put into order, whether it's my room or some job that I have been putting off.*
*Pause to say "thank you" to the clothes you are wearing, to your pen or computer, your dishes and quilts, the bath and the kitchen. Without exception, the things in your home long to make you happy. Once you see that they are there to protect and support you, once that you realize that you have enough even now ...*

the illustrations really give us more clarity
I liked this, though I haven't read her first book. She's a bit quirky, but I am still inspired to go through my things once again. And to find places to store everything.
Reinvigorated to continue tidying the house! I think the author might be a very nice lady who also happens to have severe OCD but her advice is still solid!
