These were all great individual pieces, but reading them all back to back was rather repetitive.

If I’m going to get someone’s opinion on a political or pop culture topic, I want it to be Roxane’s. Her essays are thoughtful, witty, and insightful. Published last fall, this collection spans a decade and covers a broad range of topics from the sexual misconduct of our supreme court justices, police brutality, and social injustice with reviews of popular books, movies, and television shows. It even includes a few celebrity interviews.

Actually pains me to give Roxane Gay anything less than 4 stars but unfortuately, this missed the mark for me.
