El título "Vampire Academy" me hacia alejarme millas de este libro años atrás. Estaba tan aburrida de los vampiros que nunca le si una oportunidad. En este momento me arrepiento ¡es un libro tan divertido!
Nuestra personaje principal, Rose, es sin dudas increíble, el "personaje-fuerte-femenino" con diferentes facetas. El mundo literario esta acostumbrándose a definir eso como Katniss. Pero Katniss es tan sólo una de las muchas formas de escribirlo. Rose es divertida, explosiva, femenina sin dejar de ser "kickass" (como muuuchas chicas son) .
Me gustó mucho la relación entre Lissa y Rose, como nunca se vio opacada por el "crush" que tenía Rose en Dimitri, que tengo que decir me encantó, Richelle nos dio a otro personaje complejo y de 3 dimensiones sin dejar de hacerlo misterioso.
Estoy muy feliz con esta lectura y estoy ansiosa de leer Frostbite!

This book is a tough one to review. I was hooked from the first page. I got through it in a day and found myself picking this up in between tasks.
That aside for some reason I didn't feel like I quite connected with it. The plot seemed fairly weak and I didn't really understand why Dhampirs weren't the ones with all the control since the Moroi were so weak.
The romance was pretty weak also. In other books you can 'feel' the attraction and you get why the character is crazy about their love interest but I didn't really get it.
The main characters were pretty well developed and I liked Rose, her comebacks were quite amusing in places. I also liked the way that the story was told, part through what Rose was experiencing and what she could see through her bond with Lissa.

Rose- I hated Rose from the beginning of the book all the way to the end, she is a slutty hypocritical bitch, who thinks she's way too strong and hot for anyone to hate.
I hate how she was bitching on Mia for being a bitch, who craves for attention, when she does exactly the same.
STOP ROSE, PLEASE JUST STOP
Ok so Rose sneaks off with Jesse so they can make out in a really intimate way, with taking off clothes n' all (Rose refuses to have sex though...), they get caught by Dimitri, and Dimitri sends jesse out and starts yelling at Rose implying she's a slut (thank you Dimitri) and Rose inwardly denies it and starts standing there acting all innocent, not wanting to face reality and the responsibilities that comes with being a guardian.
Rose constantly threatens to beat people up, even though the only thing she does all day at the academy is getting beat up by like all dhampirs her age. COME ON PEOPLE PLEASE JUST STOP
Later in this book a really slutty and fake rumor about rose goes around, and rose knows it isn't true, AND ROSE DOES NOTHING ABOUT IT!? WHAT THE FUCK ROSE?!?? WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE THREATENING TO BEAT PEOPLE UP??? WHAT HAPPENED?? YOU YELL AT PEOPLE AND THREATEN PEOPLE TO NOT TELL THE TRUTH, BUT WHEN SOMEONE TELLS A LIE, YOU JUST BE AN IDIOT AND ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING WWWWTTTTTFFFFFF!!!!!!????
Rose does get better near the end but her behaviour took away a star from my rating
Lissa- I love Lissa she is such a sweet girl, who is way to naïve for her own good. I love her, but she really has to mature.
Her love for animals to me seems really unnatural, and annoys me so much considering she keep wanting to save near dead animals, who I personally think would be better off being put out of their misery
Lissa is my favourite girl character in this book, but I feel like I would have liked her better if she didn't cut, or like animals that much. (I always have and always will despise anyone who cuts, it pisses me off because all the people I know who cut, have good lives and plenty of friends, there are plenty of people in much worse situations than you who don't resort to cutting. I know I don't know anything about their personal lives, or anything, but I still believe what I am saying is true)
I also don't like how Lissa is described as strong willed by Rose. if she is strong willed than why is she cutting, and letting her depression get the better of her??
despite this I still love Lissa so don't accuse me of unnecessary hate.
Christian- Christian is by far my most favourite character in this book, I love his mysteriousness (is that a word?) and the whole dark vibe around him. I love how he's rude but not mean, how he speaks the truth but he's not a jerk. I love his opinions on royals, how the academy is run, and how the whole vampire world is run. HIs relationship with Lissa is so cute, and I hate stupid Rose for wanting to split them up just because she was jealous.
Dimitri- Dimitri is OK, I love how he is described as a god. I also surprised myself by wanting him and rose together (well actually I'm still deciding whether to ship them or not), I love how he's not a teenager (lately getting sick of teenage characters, His 6'6, 6'7 size scares me and intimidates me though (even though he isn't real). Dimitri for some reason scares the hell out of me, and if he was real I'd avoid him at all costs.
Supporting characters- to put it simply I hate them all (well the ones we met I feel like if we met any non-royal character I might of liked them)
Plot: I really enjoyed the plot despite everyone claiming that it didn't have much of a plot. I thought it had a good plot, it was interesting, it was mysterious, it was good. I loved the way Richelle mead told us about the world, she did it slowly throughout the book, instead of loading all the info on us all at once
Pacing and length: I like the length and pacing of this book, this book didn't feel dragged out, or rushed.
Wishes or things I would change:
- I don't thick Natalie should have been killed off, I feel like it would have been better if she escaped and came back in the future when she was stronger
- I wish we met more decent and/or non-royal people, in this book we only met royals, or assholes
- I wish this book was multiple POV I would have loved to heard Lissa's POV, I feel like it would have made the book more interesting. I feel like I would enjoy LissaxChristian moments more if I heard it directly from Lissa
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes supernatural, and vampires

WHAT WERE THE DIRECTORS PRODUCERS CAMERA MEN AND EVERYONE TAKING PART IN THIS MOVIE THINKING!!!???!?!?!?!
