I didn't really feel this book like I did the first two in this series. A rare miss from this author for me.

I don't know, maybe it would have helped to see things from Adam's POV. His feelings were as much as mystery to me as they were to Dale, and Dale deserved better. I totally agreed with what Alex said, it just always felt like Dale was last choice for Adam. Sure, he made a grand gesture there at the end, but it wasn't really enough for me.

"For God's sake, Dale, do you think I just wanted to use you?" "I don't know if that's what you wanted or not," I said. "But it's what you did. Twice."

Dale and Adam were best friends in school but parted immediately after their first sexual encounter which happened at graduation. They met again at their 10 year school reunion but once again, Adam leaves Dale after making him promises which he doesn't keep. Finally 20 years after their first encounter, they meet again at the school reunion.

I enjoyed this book but not the level of the previous two in the series. I found it difficult to warm to Adam, or to forgive his treatment of Dale. I found it difficult to accept his reasons for leaving Dale each time and I found it really difficult to understand how Dale maintained his desire for Adam after so many years and so much heartache.

All that aside, it is a nicely told tale with some sizzling sex and some romantic moments, definitely redeemed by the grand romantic gesture - I LOVE big, public romantic gestures!

This one is all about Dale. I'm so glad that he is getting his HEA as well, because he deserves one as well.

Like the others, sexy MCs, smoking sex and interesting relationships. Colour me biased, but I do admit that L.A. Witt's writing style really is my kind of escape.

I liked this book and continued to read the rest in this series.

I just wanted to note that the end bit was delightfully done, and I found it a bit unusual. The books in this series get better as you go along.

i am not quite sure why i didn't enjoy this more. it was okay writing, partially set in my old stomping grounds, and plot elements that usually up the ante for me, it's just...even with the
public declaration of love by sailorboy
... it fell flat. the ending didn't give me the payout the rest of the story led me to expect. i don't need my hea with a bow on, just...dunno, didn't work for me.
