Loved this book so much. I wish I didn't see so much of the bad of the humanity in our world represented in the humans of this world. It is disgusting to see how terrible the monkeys are and strange to hate the humans of Thasia so greatly. Meg and the rest of the exploding fluff balls are fabulous though and remind that not all humans are awful beings.
Loved getting more about the Earth natives and watching Meg and Simon develop. Also getting to learn more about the Cassandra Sangue was fascinating and I enjoy the book Meg and her gaggle are writing to explain how to help these girls live outside of complexes and have lives.
The question left at the end of this one is how much will be too much for those in the Wild Country. At what point will the humans stupidity go past the tipping point and the curiosity no longer be worth the risk.
Again, I loved this one, the world building and characterization is just incredible. Fantastic book to end the year with.

I love this world. It is so incredibly original. As others have said, this book sets the stage for things to come. There was a lot going on and I have to admit that at times I had to really concentrate to keep track of who was who and who was doing what.

I like a little romance in my pnr/uf. There is very little, if any, in this book. I missed that aspect of it.

I'm really looking forward to the next one.

All I can say is that this book is amazing and it's going to be painful to wait a WHOLE YEAR for the next one!!! I highly recommend this to one and all, but especially to people who like fantasy/sci-fi. Ok, off to re-read the series. ;)

Another fantastic installment in this series. This book has such a wonderful fascinating cast of characters. Every single character is well fleshed out and adds to the beautiful complexities of this rich world. I love the ideas in this series, the balance of technology vs nature. Of the natural elements being the ones with truly awe inspiring power that the world doesn't even recognize.

I really felt for Meg in this story. She wants to help her friends, to help the other girls who were rescued and don't know how to deal with their powers outside of the institutions they've always known, and feels powerless against it all. You can feel the war brewing and know ultimately the right thing is to side with the Others, but you feel for all the other humans who just don't realize the damage they're causing with their close minded, bigoted ways.

I loved Simon in this story as he worries about dancing on the edge of how far he should lead the Others into accepting the humans, yet at the same time feels he needs to protect the human pack he's started acquiring slightly unwillingly. Danger is coming and it's not the humans he most fears.

Meg and Simon's cluelessness about the feelings developing between them absolutely makes me smile every time. Meg because she has no frame of reference and Simon because he just can't wrap his head around the idea of a pairing outside of the wolfgaard. Absolutely giggle worthy.

Love this series so much and can't wait to see where things go next. (Shortened review cause it'd damn hard to type with 7 stitches and a splint on your index finger. :-p)

Loved that ending scene so much! I know I love this series because I think about it when I'm not reading it. I was thinking I would take a break before reading the 4th book, but now I'm not sure I can! The build up of whats coming is just too good.

Real score 18.90. I love this series so much. An amazing world, an interesting analogy to our own or an exploration of what’s good and bad about being human, a simmering but sweet relationship building. I’ve just seen there are only two more books though. I’m devastated. This is not the time I need to be remindered of finitude.

Love this series

I really enjoy this series. There are unique characters and the good guys win. It is still exciting to read, even knowing it will end well.

Really enjoyed this one too, loving this series! I think Murder of Crows is still my favorite so far, but this one is a close second!

Plot- The plot in this one was definitely slower, more of a building one filled with a lot of political tension. I really like how in this one it's all about the global politics, because that just shows how much thought has gone into this world. I think this book was definitely more character driven, so I don't have much to say about the plot other than even with it being slow, I found the book very hard to put down. I just love these characters, so I don't mind seeing "boring" parts of their life, and watching them grow. That being said, I do still prefer the plot of the second one to this one just because I did feel more "hooked." However, I do think the next book is going to be pretty crazy judging by the event that happened at the end of this book. The very end to this book was marvelous though <3

Writing- I think the writing has gotten better, but it's still not my favorite. I do commend her for being able to judge many POV's well though.

Characters- I rambled on and on about these characters in my review of book two, so I'll try to not repeat myself. I really like these characters, and I wasn't expecting to. Somehow along the course of this series, the characters have just clung on to my heart strings and refused to let go. I'm still baffled by the fact that there are so many secondary characters in this book, and yet they're all done so well. All the characters are going through such a great emotional journey, and this book really focused on Meg and Simon's individual emotional development. I'm a little disappointed that we didn't see more of Meg and Simon together in this one, and I do wish the author would develop their relationship a tad bit quicker, I'm just getting a little tired of waiting, so hopefully the next book will deliver on that.

Overall- I'm writing this review later than planned, so my apologies that it's not as in-depth as it could have been, but I did really enjoy this novel. I really like this series, it's one of the most enjoyable ones I've read in a while. The characters are just so great, and the world, although urban fantasy, somehow seems real and plausible. I can't wait until the next book comes out, but the second book is still my favorite so far!

Recommend?- If you're an urban fantasy fan I think you'd love this book/series.
