I didn't really enjoy the writing style, and the plot really crawled along.

Definitely a slow burner, but it picks up in the second half. Solid use of shifting 3rd person limited narration. Laestadius’s descriptions of the brutality visited both upon the reindeer themselves and in the Sami way of life are a gut punch.
