I got it because of the shading style, and honestly wasn't expecting much. To my surprise, it became interesting with other characters involvement.
Somehow slow paced and took me some time to get used to the art style. Simple yet holds the creepy vibe along.
It's funny how I was creeped out
because of the little girl (tho I see her as somewhat adorb) but not the monster

An intriguing start to the series. The japanese is pretty easy to understand and I absolutely love the art style!

Imo the rating (4.22 at this point) is a bit high. It reads like a story that has been told many times before. The little girl was very adult-gazy, she’s like an overtly optimistic small MPDG (manic pixie dream girl) yet can do mediaeval housework and knows how to bake. It’s romanticising and alienating, the way only an adult (dare I say a male adult?) would have imagined an ideal little girl.
I did enjoy the gloomy art style; tho sometimes it makes the details a little hard to make out.
