I really loved this book. Unique way to tell the story. Not predictable in the end. Recommend!

One of the grittiest WWII historical fiction books I have read. The daughter and granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, the author covered areas of the war I hadn't previously read about - the Warsaw ghetto uprising and the way Jewish women were treated, used, and thrown away among others. Like all other great WWII historical fiction I've read, this book's characters also embodied the resilient, emboldeded, and resolute spirit of survival. This book takes you from the Nazi invasion to current times, and there is no time wasted in reliving the actions of those during the war and the years that followed. There were moments that made my stomach turn, moments when tears rolled down my face trying to imagine the horrors and loss, and moments where I wanted to shout, 'hell yeah'. Great, great book.
