Really really bad. Lusting after her husbands brother half the book
Really enjoyable book It would have been a five-star book for me, but there were a few too many unbelievable coincidences and too many pat resolutions of the multiple storylines. But what a story! Ms. Barr has written a riveting one. And Bina Blonski is a truly wonderful character.

A star from Hollywood's golden era tells her story, and it isn't what anyone expected ...she was part of the Warsaw uprising in world war 2, worked for the underground, and did what needed to be done to get revenge and help her community. If you liked Alice Network and Evelyn Hugo, then you'll like this one.
There are about 10,879 novels about WWII, but this might be the first time I read one with this particular perspective, and I learned a ton - and loved the MC to boot.
This was my second Lisa Barr book and I'm so happy to say I adored it so much more than the first - but I think that's due to the content of the first book not interesting me quite like this one did. I was enthralled, interested and on the edge of my seat every minute I listened to this book. Told in a before and after section, the first was a little slow but it unravelled the story we needed. While there are a lot of books set in the same time period as this one, it definitely stands out with so many extra special additions to the plot. I'd highly recommend it!
I thought this was a fairly unique take on the WW2 historical fiction novel. Enjoyed the different viewpoint and the structure: meeting the star first, then seeing her backstory revealed. Highly recommend.
A riveting work of historical fiction which was hard to put down, the story revolves around Lena Browning, a successful actress, but an imposter. Lena is Bina Blonski, a Holocaust survivor who chose revenge for the horrific atrocities committed by the Nazis. When she meets Sienna, a young starlet, she realizes the time to tell her true story was important. It was hard to read many of the scenes in this book, but it is well written and truly absorbing, as well as tremendously disturbing. I highly recommend this work of historical fiction, a unique treatment of WWII. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

A very fast paced WWii historical fiction novel. I liked the premise of it especially because I feel like I can’t read anymore World Wars historical fiction, but this is good. Recommend for book clubs.
