This is a book that weaves vampires into an all too harrowing depiction of an unbalanced relationship in such a way that you can believe it had truly happened.
It’s not a fast, horrific novel, but rather all too real, and the cast of vampires feel all too human for me to resist reading another chapter.

I needed a change of pace from my books I’ve been reading…a friend had been shouting this book from every rooftop so I gave her a go.
I’m so glad I did. Short (less than 300 pages) but so much in such a short book. The writing is beautiful. You get some aspect of historical fiction with the gothic vampire atmosphere.
I don’t even know what else to say. Just phenomenal.

This was a quick little novella about vampires—how fun!! Had no idea what I was walking into, but I had a good time! The story was written in letter form, and addressed to the main character’s “sire”, the vampire who turned her. It was well-paced, emotional at points, and wildly entertaining.
