Considero que este libro es brillante desde el lado perturbador.
La forma de narrar a este personaje principal, un chico que es despiadado y que está mal de la cabeza es brutal. King es un genio, acá lo demuestra.
Entiendo porqué censuraron este libro en su momento.

"Two years ago. To the best of my recollection, that was about the time I started to lose my mind."
Charles Everett Decker! Wow! "And there are always a lot of small minds in small towns" & SK captures this as no other writer I know of.
I think this will be my favorite SK?! It's dark and twisted and perverted and psychological.... it's hard to put down, I read it in 3 days, could not not think about it. Charlie is sick, but he's also a product of his environment. What does that say about his environment?
The fact the seemgly well-adjusted kid ending up as he does is also really telling... and somehow makes us all feel vindicated? What does that say about us?
Scary!

Breakfast Club meets Lord of the Flies. As written by Stephen King. One of the most controversial books of all time (still not available today) and it shows. Unpleasant and confrontational but an interesting meditation on violence and mental health.
in my head this is fiction, in the head of a US citizen this is a possibility
I read this book because I read a somewhere that, at Stephen King's request, this book is no longer in print because it portrays school gun violence. I might not have finished the novella without being intrigued by the background story. It's early King, and certainly not the best King. It's not even the best of his early works. For 130 pages it drags a bit. I didn't have a chunk of time to read it straight through but if I did I doubt I would have completed it in one sitting.
