Avere un'opinione su questo libro è complesso. Non mi sento di dargli meno di 4 stelle perché tra il ritmo della narrazione (ho letto più di metà libro di un fiato e non è affatto normale per me ultimamente) e la sempre stupenda capacità di King di caratterizzare i personaggi e dipingere la società in tutte le sue sfaccettature, non posso fare a meno di considerare questo libro bello e interessante.
Purtroppo avrei voluto che certi momenti della narrazione mi coinvolgessero di più emotivamente, mi parlassero, e invece così non è stato.
Era un po' che non leggevo qualcosa di king, mi ha profondamente ricordato perché amo questo autore, non vedo l'ora di leggere altri suoi libri.

I kind of expected to like this a lot more than I did, but the connections to real school shootings following the book's publication interested me more than the story itself. It's very short (~130 pages), so I can't say too much without giving anything away, but it's different than anything I've read before. Despite my somewhat low rating, I do recommend reading if you're interested (and can find it, since it's out of print now).

There is a lot of controversy surrounding this book, but it really did not live up to the hype. It explores the consequences of unchecked rage, and was thought provoking at times. Charlie Decker is a rather unremarkable character. The other students in the class were the standouts in this book. Overall a good read, but I was honestly expecting more and it just fell kind of flat. Maybe because the horrors of real life have surpassed any horror this book might have once held.
