A gorgeous ending to a wonderful series. It made me laugh, cry, stress out, all while taking public transit. Can't recommend this series enough!

Chapters 50-53

This series is a really heartfelt and wholesome read. The story has a decent amount of twists and turn, especially at the last parts. The best part of this, and actually what I loved the most, is definitely the relationship between Teacher and Shiva. They are both so precious and they deserve to have a happy and peaceful life together. They experienced so much despair and they're each other's anchor. Their sincere care for each other is just seriously melting my heart. I love that even though the ending part is not as straighforward as I thought it would and maybe a bit vague, it still has an underlying meaning of a new and happy life ahead of them. Though it has some loose ends in the other part of the story, like what happened to the people inside the wall, the King and the priest, I honestly only care about what happened to Teacher and Shiva so I don't plan to make it a big deal.

I highly recommend this to everyone. Just beware that the artwork is kind of unique and maybe a bit visually dark for a lot of us.

When I started this series I already had heard how mixed every ones feelings were about the end. So I was nervous about this from the start but with each volume I just loved these characters and everything about it more and more. After finishing this last volume I completely get the reviews now. It didn't feel like the end or it felt like an end that just got thrown on last minute. I still have questions and it feels unsatisfying in a way. I still adore this series and think it's worth the confusing end to go through this journey with the characters.
