This book terrified me when I read it at Primary School. The ending is horrible and has emotionally scarred me to this day.

The thing about this book is that it ended before even starting, just when things were moving, I found myself turning the last page. and also, the characters felt flat, there were three friends promissing each other loyalty, then one of them becomes unheard of in the very first chapters. Jill wasn't that present neither and I foud David to be a real pain in the a**.
I don't know if it's because it's a children book meant only for children or me missing out on something, wondering...

really liked this book as a kid, and while i'm not the audience anymore and the writing is more for teens, its still a very funky and enjoyable read

A fun kid's book from an Author I very much enjoyed as a teen. A 12 year old gets sent to a strange boarding school staffed by a vampire amongst other supernatural creatures. A fun story with good writing from a strong author.

I started the book with no expectations but I really enjoyed it ! I, of course, saw a lot of people saying it reminded them of Harry Potter and its universe, but I don't really understand why. Yes, it does deal with the wizarding world, but nothing is treated the same way, and the writing is very different, yet original and very enjoyable to me. I liked the humor. Plus it's a very quick read, totally worth it !
