such a sweet, cozy, wholesome story about witches and found family 💛

the characters were genuinely lovable, the narrative was funny and cute, and i’m so glad i picked up this book when i did! i needed something lighthearted and magical and uplifting, and here it is.

this book reminded me a bit of “the house in the cerulean sea” in all the best ways. i look forward to picking up the sequel!

too cozy for me

This book was fine. Very predictable plot twists and character backstories, decent writing and perspective shifts, a conclusive and wholesome ending. I wanted to love the family so bad, but we never really got to know any of them, and even the protag and main love interest were kind of bland, their romance nothing special. Honestly this book felt like a mid YA novel most of the time, but with random swearing and a couple sex scenes that felt out of place more than anything. This book entertained me on a couple long drives but is definitely not a fav.
