I don't know why, I'm not even the biggest fan of jjk, but... I expected more from this? I really did not care for the writing style (it could be an issue of translation though), and the stories themselves are not only inconsequential to the overall jjk narrative (I get it's essentially fanfiction, but still), but they were also alarmingly out of character most of the time. also, why was there a mahito story in this? at least the other stories were enjoyable to some extent - the mahito one was just rage-inducing. rot in hell, mahito!

a short good time :')

DNF-
This is the first time I’ve ever dnf’d a book within a matter of pages, so it’s impressive for that alone.
So I really like Jujutsu Kaisen, and as such was pretty excited for this, but wow was the ball incredibly dropped. The writing feels really akin to fanfiction a few of my friends used to write in middle school, and the characterization felt incredibly off, like looking at the main cast though 15 sets of stained glass windows. Maybe it gets better, maybe some of this is just an issue with the official translation (I did notice a fun error in the small amount I read where Sukuna was called Suzuna) and a fan translation is more worthwhile, but I get the distinct vibe this isn’t worth my time (for others who feel the same, there are some fan translations of the radio shows on YouTube and a lot of those will work better as supplementary material)

Reading this book just cemented my love for this series even more lol.

Not good

Now I gotta buy the second one cause my library doesn’t have it….

It so nice to not have my heart ripped out and actually allow it to beat normally again.

I actually really enjoyed the writing in the light novel. These short stories gave us more insight into the manga characters and their daily life, while also answering some questions about what happens between the plot's lines. The whole experience was bittersweet. For someone who read everything, I can only feel a sense of dread and nostalgia while reading this. It did however provide me some comfort in these dark days.
