This was a Southern twist on the Greek myth of Hades and Persephone. As a Canadian girlie we have no equivalent to the South so I do love me a Southern story...And the men
A Retelling of a Southern Hades and Persephone
Ok so Living in Greece Since i was 10 i adore all things Greek Mythology - And i adore anything Southern -i will visit the states one day go there and eat Grits and Cold Ice Tea!!!! So place them together and its like Strawberry ice cream with extra sprinkles!!!!
We Get introduced to Paige as she is attending her Cotillion, Although her one ask was that it be set in the towns most lucrative Nightclub - there she meets its owner Hayes who is her ultimate chocolate fudge!
I loved Hayes and Paige together - the small references that were nods to the Greek myth were beautifully placed - The story itself from the Parents to the couple was brilliant and again entangled with a fresh spin on the Myth it was very clever.
My only small Quibble was How Paige seemed to roll over time and time again for her Parents, But Hayes couldn't get a word in when stuff erupted.... Considering they are married and she and their possible future children still have it as their legacy..... I was a bit confused why she was so upset...
Im definitely reading book 2 to find out the conclusion for these two lovebirds!!!!

The Bourbon Bride was pure brain candy – a quick, steamy read that kept me hooked from start to finish. The fast-paced story and compelling characters made it easy to get lost in the drama and romance. If you're looking for an engaging escape, this book delivers!
I would have loved for this to be longer, I feel like there was more story to be told and some more development would have been nice.
With that being said, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next one in the series.

While I loved this book and the MCs I wanted more of an emotional connection between them. I thought how they met in the secret garden was so beautiful! Paige has always walked a thin line between obedience and rebellion until her mother tries to marry her off. The rift between Paige and her family was the exact opportunity Hayes needed to try and buy her family’s hotels from her.
Paige has had enough when her mom tries to marry her off for the good of the family business and decides to run away. Only to end up at Hayes's place of business. Hayes not only wants to buy her family business but he ultimately ends up caring for her and wants to protect her and give her what she deserves.
While I enjoyed their relationship and the way they got along with each other, I wanted more of an emotional connection between them. Paige opens up to Hayes and that is her undoing at the end. While both decided to get married, Hayes kept his intentions hidden.
Hayes ultimately goes behind Paige’s back and tries to control her life, Under the rouse that he knows what’s best for her. Paige went from one jailer to another, but no more. Once giving Hayes a piece of her mind and telling him off, something one has done, he lets her walk away. The fact that he does understand how what he did was a stab in the back but he never tried to apologize pissed me off.
I’m hoping Hayes wakes up and grovels. Paige may be dependent on her parents to some degree but she is independent and she will not let herself be used as a bargaining chip. I loved how Hayes's dog automatically became her own personal bodyguard and every moment had me laughing!! I’m excited to see what’s next in store for the MCs.

Holy smokes! I loved this book so much! This book made me laugh, blush, and get in all my feels. The ending was such a cliff hanger! I have to immediately start book 2 just to know what happens! And the spice was spicing at times 3

I lost interest in this and skimmed the second half. I loved some parts of it but it just wasn’t my cup of tea. Super predictable except for having a cliffhanger ending where they didn’t even resolve the issue.
