I absolutely love a book with a smart nerdy girl so I wanted to read this so bad! It did not disappoint! I was instantly invested in Jupiter and Marnie's love story!

They were so sweet and innocent yet angsty and steamy! I loved Jupiter being so grumpy and mean to other people but when it came to Marnie he was so perfectly sweet and romantic! Jupiter will leave you swooning so hard!

While reading, I wanted so desperately for them to work out! I fell in love with them and really enjoyed their story. This was such a fantastic book about second chances and a young love that doesn't fade. I can not wait to read more from Lulu Moore!

Well, this is hard for me. I love sports romances. I love baseball romances. Second chance romances, sign me up. Unfortunately, this one just didn't hit the mark for me.

Broadly, the book is well written. The storyline flows smoothly once you get past about 30-35%, which is a mix of current time and flashbacks. It's not my favorite thing in a book, but it wasn't awful. Honestly, this is my first read by this author, so I can't speak on whether or not this fluidity and writing style is a constant. If I were to base my review on just this, it would be a 4 star read.

I just couldn't get past the sudden change of heart that Jupiter had after 14 years and MANY other women. He didn't even have contact with Marnie. All of a sudden, after all that time, you want her back? Then to pull the manipulation that he did. Disrespectful of her wants, his constant pestering felt like she gave in just to get him to stop.

Anytime I read a Lulu book I have a permanent smile on my face 98% of the time. That 2%? One of the men is doing something ridiculous becauseโ€ฆwell let's face it - these men arenโ€™t perfect, but theyโ€™re pretty close for me!

The prologueโ€ฆ just rip my heart out & stomp on it.

The story is told with present-day Jupiter & Marnie, who havenโ€™t seen each other in 14 years after Jupiter broke up with her the day he was drafted to the MLB. Now Jupiter has finally come to his senses & decided to do something about his love for Marnie which never fadedโ€ฆ that something? Get a new position made for Marni with the NY Lions, the team Jupiter just signed with. (Hi Penn

"Finding your forever person was goddamn hard โ€“ especially if you lost them once already."

I loved this book! It was super sweet with some angst and a very swoonworthy baseman book boyfriend who would do anything to win his geeky highschool sweetheart back. This book kept me engaged and had me smiling throughout the times Jupiter did something to melt Marnie's heart. And their past moments made my heart flutter! I also liked the side characters, they had a strong and charming presence. Jupiter & Marnie's bond was very special and there was no doubt that they will be the ultimate endgame. Overall, this book gave me all the second chance feels I was looking for. Just wished the epilogue was more fluffy.

So nice I read it twice!

Jupiter Reeves

The Man. The Myth. The Legend.

The Bad Boy of Baseball has an attitude for a reason. Her name is Marnie Matthews and sheโ€™s an actual rocket scientist.

In previous books, readers find out that Jupiter is pining for his first and only love from high school. He is ready to forget about the past and make Marnie his again, but she isnโ€™t going to go calmly into that good night (even if it is very good night).

Jupiter and Marnie try to navigate their new reality, after years of heartbreak, while working for the same organization. The Jupiter orchestrated forced proximity leads to some explosive interactions.

This book switches between scenes from their high school relationship and present day. The flashbacks were well done and crucial for the story. Weโ€™ve seen Jupiter as the grump baseball player and here we also get to see Jupiter as the young man in love. Lulu does such a wonderful job of bringing these two halves of him together to become the man Marnie deserves.

Iโ€™ve been infatuated with Jupiter since he first appeared in Drewโ€™s Vegas book. He definitely lives up to the hype and Marnie has officially been added to my girl crush list. I love them and their dynamic. This book is heavy on the swoon with the perfect amount of steam. I laughed out loud, gasped and made that โ€œawwwโ€ face so many times I lost count.

This story was a little different than I expected and everything I wanted all at the same time.

The cameos from the characters of previous books are great and Iโ€™m so excited about all of the new characters for this series. The friendship that develops between Marnie, Lowe & Beulah is one of my favorite things.

As usual, I am left with a perma-grin and a deep longing for the next bookโ€ฆ
