It was okay! Second chance romance, cute at times but the fmc needed to stand up more for herself and the mmc needed to be less cocky and more understanding of her insecurities. The miscommunication for the first break up was annoying but we can't ask for a lot because they were teenagers, it's expected for them to be stupid lol

Jupiter and Marnie are neighbors that attend the same high school, but aren't in the same grade. One day Jupiter notices her, and he falls pretty hard and fast. Marnie does as well. They start a relationship and make plans to stick together after they graduate, when Jupiter would play pro ball and Marnie attends MIT. On the day that Jupiter is drafted to the Dodgers, however, he breaks it off with Marnie with no warning.

Fourteen years later, Marnie is convinced to take a job with the New York Lions, but after arriving, learns that Jupiter has been traded from the Dodgers to the Lions, and that he only agreed to the trade on the condition that the owner finds her and hires her because he wants her back.

The flashbacks were  good, and the author definitely did a great job showing that first, young love that the characters had.

However, there were some things that I didn't like at all that kinda had me turning off from the characters . First thry were both young and some mis lies causes 14 years of pining, a failed marriage and no speaking. Like if she meant that much to you that's a long time to wait out when you wanted her back.

Next he's kinda toxic like he never truly owned his decision he was older than her she was 16 and in love and he destroyed her. So anytime she would have hesitation ot concern he bulldozed her fears with leaving where she already had ptsd. Like she was messed up by him

Because he never truly apologized I was inked out by him and I felt sorry for her but also she was manipulated by him once again. She was willing to give up everything and he even said he wouldn't. Which at 18 and 16 no one should have given up anything.

I get annoyed when they break up like this son long and then they still don't communicate properly.

I felt like I needed even more info on their lives in those 14 years. I listen to this and the narration did not help with these feelings. Even the end once again marni had to make the big gesture since he was pouting that she was hurt.

I really disliked Jupiter. Like thanks for buying me gifts ,manipulating my career again and buying me a house but did not like it.
