Reviews with content warning for Domestic abuse - Prohibido enamorarse

I didn’t look up trigger warnings for this because normally I don’t have to for hockey romances. Sensitive topics aside I enjoyed this book, literally had moments where i was smiling and kicking my feet!

It’s so easy to fall in love with Hannah and Garrett. What starts off as two people being somewhat strangers to each other to a tutor/tutoree (?) relationship turned into a real friendship.

“What, you two are friends now? She teases.
I falter. It’s on the tip of my tongue to voice a denial, but it feels wrong when I remember I spent the past two hours confiding in Garrett about my issues with Cass and then serenading him like a frickin’ troubadour. And honestly, as insufferable as he is at times, Garrett Graham isn’t as bad as I thought he was.
So I offer a rueful grin and say, “Yeah. I guess we are.”

Hannah and Garrett’s banter and bickering was enjoyable while reading and i enjoyed watching the friendship develop and unfold into something more. Also, I loved how long it took them to get around to the super sexual stuff it felt real and I loved the slow build up.

Something’s happening to me. I can’t stop kissing him. He’s too addictive. And even though this might have started with me somewhat in charge, I’m no longer in control.

“Oh my God, we’re arguing about the way we argue!” I interrupt, unable to stop from laughing.

Elle Kennedy really does capture the essence of college male so well (lol). And i love the dynamics of the side characters in her stories. Can someone look into what’s up with Kennedy writing stories where characters have dead moms or shitty dads?

On to the next book in the series!

I liked the first half of this book more than the second half. Hannah got annoying toward the end and I can’t stand when couples simply don’t communicate but overall it was a good and easy read.

To anyone that is upset at the author writing her male characters the way she did should never date a college, male athlete…these characters were much tamer and kinder than any that I dated in college, just saying!

Reached the epilogue and I didn't even notice it.
Finished the book in a day and I can only say that I'm in love with Garrett Graham.
I don't really have much to say about the plot since I don't think there was much to it but I kind of liked how the author just put the info in there without beating around the bush. I loved Hannah and Garrett's dynamic though I feel a bit sorry we didn't get much of the side characters and Garrett's passion for hockey and Hannah's one for music. Even though the boys are going to get their books, I hoped to see more of them during the reading. It didn't feel like they randomly jumped in there and when they appeared they fitted just right without feeling forced.
Either way, four stars! It's not really my type of book but I really enjoyed it.
(btw the content warnings have nothing have nothing to do with the main characters relationship it's about their relationship with other people so don't worry about reading it.)
