Elle Kennedy has the ability to write about incredibly harrowing topics in such an empathetic and real way. How she can weave topics such as sexual assault and domestic violence into a gorgeous love story is truly admirable. The Deal is hard-hitting and definitely do not expect a happy-go-lucky romance, but it is beautiful and I would highly recommend this book.

Charming, fun, spicy, and also includes tough topics. I really enjoyed this!

In love with all the main characters in this book, got a little slow towards the end but picked right back up again. Not sure about the miscommunication/third part breakup trope but I suppose the climax was needed. Garret Graham I love you.

Look, this is not getting anything remotely resembling a "full" review. I was in a weird emotional place, which always translates over to my reading (*big* mood reader here), and when that happens, I turn to steamy, problematic (I could list the issues, but really, you know they're there going in; I'm not defending it, at all, but just...read something else if that's not what you want) romances. It happens. Pretty periodically. (I'm an emotional person.) They're quick and easy reads, page-turners, and I love the drama, the sex, the questionable "big dude/protectiveness" and "I won't give up til I win you over you" vibes, and knowing there's going to be an HEA. It always hits the spot and helps get me through the moods. Thanks for your service this time, Elle Kennedy. #sorrynotsorry

The characters were engaging but the plot is all over the place.

Great book! I loved the character development. The lack of communication break up in the last few pages really felt unnecessary and thrown in which is why I couldn’t give it 5 stars.

I loved the balance between spicy romance and heartfelt moments. Hannah and Garrett navigate their personal baggage while falling for each other was both heartwarming and relatable. I loved Garrett's determination to build trust in their relationship. This book was an easy, quick read offering just the right mix of depth and fun. If you're looking for a swoon-worthy hockey romance that'll leave you smiling!

I liked it. I just hate when couples breakup and makeup in the last 1/4 of the book
