I remember reading this when it was first put out on wattpad and loving it! Reading this again as an adult has changed my view on certain things but overall it was still a pretty good read. This book was a really quick read which is great if you don't want to spend forever on a single book.
I wish there was more to the book mainly through showing the relationships that Jackie has with each member of the Walter family as well as seeing her grow as a person and learn to deal with the loss of her family. The book was fun but there could have been much more depth and detail. There were many moments that I feel were a little overlooked and quickly forgotten.
I'm also not a huge fan of what went down with Alex and Cole. I know Jackie found friendship and comfort with Alex and they both used each other for different reasons but the fact that he dated and pursued Jackie just to show that he can beat his brother was pretty messed up. Jackie and Cole were clearly into each other from the start so I wish they were able to actually build a relationship throughout the book instead of having this love triangle with the brothers constantly using Jackie to try and get the other upset.
With all that said though, I am really excited to see how the show will turn out!

➷ "But that's Cole's football jersey. I haven't seen it since..." Alex trailed off, too shocked to finish his sentence.
➷ "Just remember, you only took the first round. We both know from experience that I always win"
➷"Oh, so now you care about me? If that's true, why would you try to get me in trouble like that?"
"Because you said yes to Alex!" he screamed. And then, as if he was out of steam, he dropped his head. "Why did you say yes?"
➷ Cole didn't move as I made my way out of the clearing. He just let me go.
➷"Oh, Alex!" Isaac squealed in a girly voice. "You're so damn sexy that I was making out in the closet with your older brother!"

I first watched the series (1st season) of My Life with the Walter Boys and wanted to read the book it's based on to get to know the story and characters. Unfortunately the book also ends at the same time and place as the season does, so not much more to find out. Of course the book varies a bit from the series, especially regarding the two main Walter boys. Nevertheless, it's a lovely story to read to unwind and relax. The characters are easy to identify with and the ending is a positive hopeful one.
Cute story idea. More romance than I anticipated. Some characters were well-developed, some just danced on the fringes. I think a good editor could have pulled this up to a 4.5-5 star book as some events were glossed over. Overall, though, I enjoyed it. Good beach read.
I started this when It was still on wattpad, but decided to stop reading and wait until she finished it. But then it was being published so I decided to wait and read it then. IT IS SO GOOD. I LOVE all the stories this author writes and if you've never read one of her wattpad books - go check them out. This is one of the better contemporary books I've read in a while and I just love the idea and the storyline. And it's kinda funny how realistic the brothers are since I have had a friend with a bunch of brothers and their house is literally CHAOS. They would definitely do the whole stealing the clothes thing.
