This story is fun and sexy! The audiobook narrator did an amazing job. The main character has a thick southern accent and it made it so fun. I love the roaring 20's, and when you add magic and Fae I am hooked. Who would of thought that fantasy themes would go so well in the world of prohibition and speakeasies. So fun. I cannot wait for the next book!

I had no idea I was interested in a fae story set in the 1920's in the US, but here we are! The Prince of Prohibition is unlike any other fantasy book I've read, and I'm so grateful I was able to listen to it on audio.

The story occurs in three main sections, and I honestly enjoyed the beginning and ending - the pacing felt wrong for me in the middle section of the book. However, throughout the whole story, it's really interesting to watch Marilyn Marks weave magic into our world. That was done with excellence.

If you're going to read this book, I highly recommend the audiobook. I thought the narrator really brought the characters to life in a way that kept me engaged throughout the entirety of the book. I'm grateful to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for granting me access to an audio ARC of The Prince of Prohibition.

I am confused but this was cool?

Read this book if you enjoyed ACOTAR and The Great Gatsby because The Prince of Prohibition blends the two in its unique way that will have you turning pages until the very last. With a beautiful NYC backdrop, glitz, and glam, you embark on an epic adventure full of love, lust, twists, and magic. This book will grab you from the first chapter and not let you go.

Adeline and Jack are precious, not to mention Jack is book-boyfriend material (even in his fae form). You'll love him if you enjoy morally gray characters that are endearing yet can melt your pants off with their witticism and good looks. I particularly love this book's fae lore; it was original and a fresh take on books with the fae. I can't wait for book 2!

Note: this book contains dark themes and spice. I recommend reading reviews and lists of warnings before diving in! But when you do, you'll enjoy the wild ride.

Honestly I had no expectations for this book. Hadn’t heard anything about it, but was instructed by the premise. The writing and plot line blew me away. While intricate at times to follow, the mixture of Welsh lore with the roaring 20s is an unique and exciting mix! Eagerly waiting for book 2!

Screaming, crying, throwing up - I need the next book right now. This is magical.

If you like ACOTAR and the later seasons of Peaky Blinders this might be right up your alley; it really does give Fae in suits doing crime and getting drunk with found family trope, magic and wonderfully messy romantic vibes.

A roaring 20s based, urban fantasy? Yes please! I really enjoyed the setting (1920s New York), the plot (girl thrust info fae-world), and the characters (MMC and friends are mobsters (think sexy-version Al Capone)). It has a ton of popular tropes (fated mates, enemies to lovers, chosen one) but I think that they were handled in a unique way. There was a lot of chemistry and banter between the FMC and MMC but we also got to see some good friendships form for the RMC outside of the romantic relationship. I enjoyed all the twists and cant wait for book 2 after that ending.

For some, the beginning might feel slow (before she moved to NYC). But I appreciated the extensive background and setting up of the story. I think it provided depth and made this story more interesting than the run-of-the-mill fantasy romances that are everywhere right now.

The narration of the audiobook version is really well done. I appreciated the subtle accents and varying voices for the different characters.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for providing an eARC of this audiobook.

First off, I wanted to thank Marilyn for reaching out to me and for sending me an arc of this book!

I really enjoyed this book! The only complaint I have, is that it was slow for me in the beginning. But after a few chapters, I was hooked & was always kept on my toes!

I was unsure of how I would like the setting of the book, but I was so impressed!

And don’t get me started about that cliff hanger…I need the next book like yesterday! Cannot wait for it to come out!

I listened to the audiobook on Everand. The narrator is fantastic and there are so many twists and turns! I loved the slow burn romance and unique twist on the fated mates trope. This book has loads of magic and action. Book 2 will be going to the top of my tbr upon release!

This book just easily became one of my favorites.
I am FERAL for the next one.
