I've never met a 35 year old man named Huxley, but I do live a sheltered life in a small town. hahahaha. 5 stars for the quippy/witty rapport between the 2 main characters. It's my kryptonite. Lottie... she's feral

This was actually pretty fun. Definitely spicy. Have to suspend a lot of disbelief but once that’s done it was funny and silly. Wonder why it’s easier to suspend disbelief with some books than others 🤔 must’ve just enjoyed the writing style of this more than some others because it’s definitely a familiar plot. At first was thinking am I going to be interested because it’s definitely not a new storyline but then in the end it was pretty funny and sweet so it pulled me in. The ending was a bit 👀🙄 but I get it.

This was such a strong start to the book. The characters and the setting were really enticing and the romance was a slow burn, painfully slow at times but perfect in building up the relationship between the characters.

The only thing that let it down was the ending - after such a slow burn during the book, the ending felt very rushed and irrational. A few of the main plot lines were brushed over and felt ignored compared to the romance.
