The return of Marguerite!! The plot outside of the romance was fun and juicy—cultists and poison and espionage—but the romance just as compelling. The berserker paladins are so special to me <3 Cannot wait for the next installment.

3.5 stars - I need to stop thinking T. Kingfisher as a romantasy writer.
I liked it.

I didn’t enjoy this book as much as others in the series. There was a lot of travel adventure which dragged a bit. And no gnoles! I loved the secondary characters in the other books, but they weren’t as compelling here. The ending felt like rather an abrupt change of direction which set us up for the next in the series.
