Other people might go through the world uncertain and alone, but not Matthew: now wherever he wandered, whenever he called out, there would be an answer. He would never walk anywhere alone.
There's nothing I can do about this, I'm simply parabatai stuff trash
I'm very glad this was from Matthew's perspective. CoG will be epic!

The Mortal Instruments series is an interesting series with strong characters. I found Clary to become increasingly annoying over the course of the books and I stopped reading after the third one where you finally find out that Jace is part angel (or something to that effect, I read it afew years ago). I have been told the fourth book is not bad. Overall, the first three I read created an intriguing world with 'guilty' pleasure plots.
A él y a Clary.
I can’t help falling in love with her books. Although the third one was my favourite one of all
i have always heard about the shadowhunter world and even watched a few episodes of the show but it didn't prepare me for the delightful thing i got while reading this series.
i am sure a lot of people have read this book but since i just read it, it is kind of fresh in my memory and i cant wait to the read the other books by this author that would keep me in this shadowhunter world.

I was first introduced to this series when I was in middle school, when admittedly a lot of youths adore simplistic, angsty, romance books. While this books "main" plot is not romantic relationships, it's roughly 75% of the conversations or inner monologues.
Plot: a race of people- called Shadowhunters- who are half-angel, half-human, are mandated to protect humans and fantasy creatures (werewolves, vampires, faeries etc.) from demons. The main character: Clary. A 15 yr/old teen who has a "lost girl" complex and is introduced to this "Shadow" world she didn't previously know existed. Along side the Shadowhunters she meets, she must defeat the antagonist who is attempting to alienate the Shadowhunter race.
Pros:
The inner monologue of the main character feels very teen-like. In most YA novels, it's very obvious the author is an adult attempting to mimic YA dialect.
The author does a decent job of fixing a linear path for the storyline- every action/decision is explained.
The author sculpts the world well. The world, though explained through questions- because the main character has no idea what's going on-concise language is used.
Cons:
The character development is severely lackluster. Clary suffers from "I'm not like other girls" syndrome throughout the entire series- even when she is fully immersed in this world she was meant to be in all along. She maintains a Harry Potter like "I am all alone and everything is always my fault" mentality, even though the series centers around young adults fully capable of making their own decisions. Jace is the typical asshole, broken bad boy that's whole sense of identity is that he doesn't have one. The entire series, and the supporting characters, are set to perpetuate the relationship between Jace and Clary.
The pace of the series feels very rushed- despite it being 6 books long. Within several DAYS of meeting Jace, and the other Shadowhunters, Clary is completely obsessed with Jace- and vice versa. Within two weeks, they are sacrificing their lives for each other.

its not that these books were bad... they were pretty awesome actually. Maybe I could have found themmore interesting had I started them directly after Percy Jackson series. The characters were good but there traits were not clear. You could not really connect with any of them. Except Simon. The plot remained interesting overall and there were big shocks.
I found the world that Clare made pretty attractive
