I am definitely one of those people who thinks that life would be easier if I lived on a tropical island. The narrator of this book shares my view and sets out to do just that. Of course, things don't turn out the way he planned. I love this author, he has a great voice.

It's been a while since I read "God Clobbers Us All." I may not remember it well, but feel like this was a much more wild ride. So you probably don't need to read GCUA first.

For this trip we are taken on a whirlwind trip halfway across the US and then to the East Indies. There's a sense of desperation and foreboding and questions of what's real and verging on the supernatural, and who knows, with all the booze flowing?
