There's a lot going on in this book. Lots of animals to explore. The passage of time. Gardening activities. It's neat.

This story starts in Spring when the garden is being planted. It grows through Summer, harvested in Fall, and rests in Winter. The main focus is what on top of the garden and what's moving or growing under the soil. It's a bit lengthier than my usual storytime book, but it's a good one.

my son is rather taken with this book, and I am too. It portrays a little girl and her grandmother as they play and work in the backyard garden through the seasons. It gives a view of what's happening throughout the year both above and below the soil, all the moving parts and creatures that make the garden thrive. Beautiful illustrations and lovely text. A great book for your littlest garden helpers.

I picked up this book for a reading challenge. I must say that although it is not my style, I learned a lot about gardening.

This is such a cute book! The drawings are colorful and vibrant. You can see and almost feel the dirt between your toes while reading this book. It's a great book to teach kids what goes on in a garden.
