Read aloud to my daughter (age 5). She enjoyed it. Good for an average of two chapters a night.

Her review: "Sad, then happy. Sad again, then happy again. Charlotte is a good friend."

Impossible for me not to compare to the cartoon adaption that I grew up with. It was very faithful to the book.

“It was the best place to be, thought Wilbur, this warm delicious cellar, with the garrulous geese, the changing seasons, the heat of the sun, the passage of swallows, the nearness of rats, the sameness of sheep, the love of spiders, the smell of manure, and the glory of everything.”

E. B. White was so good at lists.

THE book to get any kid into reading.

Reread but this time with the youngest who is 6. He didn't enjoy this as much as his big brother did at this age but I still love it. It's a sweet classic. Now we're ready to watch the movie again!

Una hermosa historia sobre la amistad para los más pequeños.

I reread this for the first time as an adult, and it was still enjoyable just as it was when I was a child! I read it to my daughters, ages 5 and 3, who also loved hearing about Charlotte and Wilbur every day. It was our first read aloud chapter book in our homeschool, and it was a success. Will definitely be reading it again when the baby is older.

2024 Update: Read again with the above mentioned "baby" who is almost 6! She loved it as her first read aloud with Mama for "school".
