The Vagina Bible: The Vulva and the Vagina—Separating the Myth from the Medicine by Jen Gunter

Every woman needs to read and/or have this book as a reference source because every woman deserves "to have the power that comes with knowing how her body works and how to look for help when her body may not be working as she hoped it would." The Vagina Bible is so informative and I learned so much.

"I want all women to know when there is bias and medical subterfuge, when there are lies, and when the patriarchy is just invested in keeping them frightened about their own normal (and I might add, glorious) bodily functions."

Common-sense approach with exceptional clarity. Dispels commonly accepted myths with actual science and practice. Definitely must read.
Received as a Goodreads giveaway (but that didn’t affect my sensibilities about the text).

almost no mentions of fatness, and no scaremongering around 'obesity' (shouldn't be something i'm pleasantly surprised by in a book about *vaginas,* but here we are)

Super interesting: I didn't understand all of it and will remember even less, but this is a must read for everyone with a vagina. This is well researched and she is certainly an expert on the topic, so the information is trustworthy. It's not a really a read front-to-back, but rather a good reference volume to dip into and out of as needed or as when you are interested in learning something about yourself. Highly recommend.

She has been called Twitter's resident gynecologist, the Internet's OB/GYN, and one of the fiercest advocates for women's health...and she's here to give you the straight talk on the topics she knows best
Does eating sugar cause yeast infections?
Does pubic hair have a function?
Should you have a vulvovaginal care regimen?
Will your vagina shrivel up if you go without sex?
What's the truth about the HPV vaccine?
So many important questions, so much convincing, confusing, contradictory misinformation!
So how do you separate facts from fiction? OB-GYN Jen Gunter, an expert on women's health--and the internet's most popular go-to doc--comes to the rescue with a book that debunks the myths and educates and empowers women
Discover the truth!
Thank you Goodreads and Kensington Books for the chance to read this book!!
Let me tell you I am a woman in her mid-thirties and there were things in this book that even I didn’t know about or thought one thing or told another and this book says the completely different thing. But also showing the reasons and examples why some of the things we have learned is not exactly right. The book was very educational. Happy reading everyone!!
