There was no substance. The FMC was just whiny and insecure.

This is a great debut book.
Poor Josie has been through so much, do many horrible things and even though they don't go super deep into all the abuse, it's still pretty horrible. Now the boy's are just the sweetest Ben is my absolute favorite, he just want to bake and cook for his family and make them happy.
The DC or better said Josie's parents just want her to be with an awful pack but she picks the Ashwoods the problem is that the DC keeps dragging onto approving them, when they finally go to the interview Josie is faced with her most feared abuser giving you the most nauseating feeling

This was just not the omega verse novel for me. It was way too long with many repetitive scenes and inner monologues and crying, so much crying. This was like a crazy handmaids tale set in an omega verse and to be honest I kept reading because I did want to know how it turned out but not because I liked the characters. Besides the repetitive nature of the characters inner thoughts, the writing was well done.
