Are you sure this is a debut novel? This well written, entertaining friends with benefits to lovers story is so much fun! Claire and Kevin have been best friends forever, and friends with benefits for years. Kevin, a successful Hollywood actor and Claire running her family business each have their own careers, but when together the sparks fly. Now as feelings change, will their relationship survive? I absolutely loved this story. Kevin is a wonderful man, and even though in the public eye does his best to keep his private life private. Claire is fun, flirty and has all the emotions attached that I would too! They are magic together, and I love the fun banter. The family dynamic between Claire and her sister, Kim is so realistic and their secondary story is beautiful. Sloan has a winning combination of characters and I loved it!

Erin Mallon brings their story to life, enhancing it with her talent. She truly can find the personalities of the characters, hone in and make them real with her voices. I loved her performance, as always!

Well I loved this cliche of a story because the two main characters had a relationship/friendship/chemistry that defied it all. It’s an angsty read but filled with such emotion and the main characters have such a bond that the angst is something that can be a minor thing. I highly recommend this read and I seriously enjoyed this book.

I was given the opportunity to read this amazing book. Let me tell you Ryleigh did an amazing job with this one. I absolutely loved it. Kevin and Claire have been best friends since they were kids. Now as adults they are friends with benefits but that changes when she tells him the truth about how she feels and he cant say the same thing to her. Now secrets are being kept and lives are being turned upside down. I absolutely love what Claire does for her sister and how it changes her thinking. This was a very well written great book with two characters who had great chemistry. I cant wait to get more from this writer.

I am so surprised to see that this is a debut novel! Typically, I don’t read books with a lot of sex scenes - just not my thing. The story looked good though, so I gave it a chance and I’m glad I did. I did skip over all of the sex scenes, but I really enjoyed the story and the characters. It was also really interesting to read a book set in South Africa - that was a first for me!

Kevin lets Claire no he wasn’t seeing anyone in the months he was away, you go on dates and they want to be exclusive. Claire doesn’t’ know when they decided to be friends with benefits, but it worked for them and Claire never felt more content then in his arms.
After being questioned about her and Kevin, Claire says they are best friends and not in love, but after she realises that she’s falling in love with him and that will change everything.
Not being able to say no, when Kevin asks her to fly over for the Oscars she says yes, he explains that he’s solved the press problem by becoming a fake couple with Hayley Stephens.
Seeing Kevin and Hayley at the concert, Claire knows she has to let him know how see feels, but when he says he can’t be what she needs, Claire knows she has to go home.
Slowly they get back to talking to each other as friends again, but with everything going on it hurt to talk to him and everything she wanted to tell him she couldn’t, and she just can’t talk to him anymore and decides to take an offer from her brother-in-law and cut Kevin from her life.
Claire can’t be more surprised when Kevin shows up, learning that her Nan told him what was happening, but after talking with Hayley she knows she has to confront Kevin, but will it give her closer, or will they both admit they can’t live without each other.

I received an ARC copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review. I have given Cliché by Ryleigh Sloan four out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I absolutely loved this book from the beginning of the story all the way through to the last page. It was such an enjoyable read and the right kind of contemporary romance novel I could have wished for.

This novel is for adult readers only due to the sexy language and steamy scenes written throughout.

I fell in love with the main characters of the story who were, Claire (great name, I wonder why?
