Solid 3.5. The beginning was slow and simply copied the cartoon movie, however, once the story started to deviate from the familiar storyline, it became really interesting. All the characters were fleshed out which was fun to read.

I think this was an interesting take on a classic Disney tale. I’m excited to see what the other twisted tales have in store.

A dark and twisted take on the Disney version of Aladdin. A lot better than the first book in the series, “Once Upon A Dream”. Very enjoyable!

Honestly, I really did not enjoy this book. I enjoyed the first maybe half of it and then it went super downhill for me. The story wasn’t very believable and had too many moments of “oh they were so close, but then something terrible happens again.” I never felt like I got any satisfaction for the characters and their plight and by the end, I really didn’t care anymore. I also really wanted them to kind of circle back and parallel to the original story with Jafar’s last wish and the ending really left me wanting so much more. I was actually furious when I finished this book, so unfortunately it’s not high on the rating scale for me.

Started strong, but lost me when it turned into the war parts of YA dystopian stories I have no interest in.
