I was really pleasantly surprised with this one. Sure parts are slightly erratic to reflect the authors inner turmoil at the time but it is a journey of self love and friendship.

"If equal affection cannot be / Let the more loving one be me."
I found comfort in Dolly's retelling of her life before the age of 30. What I'm doing isn't wrong. What I'm feeling isn't wrong. She expresses herself with such a great mix of toughness and softness. I gave a 3/5 rating because I feel like some of the conclusions drawn about ageing, love, female friendships were a little reused/obvious and won't necessarily stick with me.

This was basically a stream of consciousness memoir. It was often hard to follow and felt disjointed.
