Honestly, this book was…a lot to handle. I couldn’t believe the ending and how much the plot moved from one place to another. I was definitely not expecting anything like this and quite frankly this book gave me a headache with the amount of twist the plot has. I believe if you like books that have great writing and crazy, crazy plots, this book is for you. But in my opinion, it was a lot to process and I will probably never read this again (THANK GOD!!) Overall, I actually look forward to reading other book made by Grady Hendrix, because this was definitely an experience I would like to have again with his other literary works.

i really really wish they had given fu(bar)gate a different username in that lil reddit screenshot. it made me immediately suspicious of steph and it feels like it’s giving something away way too early

i very recently read another one of grady hendrix's books, my best friend's exorcism. it was decently entertaining and i'd been looking at this one for a little while before having read the other. i was not aware beforehand that they were both written by the same author until i went to read this one. i did like this one better. the main character has a lot of flaws but you also feel sympathetic for her and invested in her story at the same time. i liked the concept of the story and the portrayal of ptsd/ocd/agoraphobia as someone who has experienced all three as well at various levels. now that i've read two of grady's books, i can tell he likes a good nostlagia feel with a flawed narrator with a lot of self-doubt but who ultimately cares more about their tribe than the fear of failing and will do anything to protect the ones they care about most. there's always going to be a happy, heart-warming ending and a "love and bravery conquers all" moral of the story.

This book was kind of all over the place and some of the ‘surprises’ made no sense… it just felt like there was too much going on. If only a few of the main plot points occurred, the story could have been more fledged out. It was just odd, idk how else to describe it.

I really like it! It's def a work made by someone who loves the original horror classics but is willing to put a twist on them to make the stories more impactful. I wish the characters were more like a family, though. When bad stuff starts happening, I really wanted them to be more supportive of each other, but they dove right into fighting, and it wears on you after awhile. So... not found family, but it's a fun time!

Final Girl Support Group works on many levels. It’s a feminist reframing of horror tropes. It’s a love letter to every Final Girl. It’s a protest to a culture of violence and dehumanization. It’s also a very good thriller. The only reasons it’s not rated higher is because it could’ve been improved by a more diverse lens of womanhood (all of our protagonists are white) and beyond our POV character, the others were hard to get a full read on until the end. The ending though is Top Notch. If the premise is at all appealing, this is worth the read!!
